damn cool system using a couple of motors, some string and a can of spraypaint.
the can of spray paint is suspended by two strings (attached to motors suspended from opposite ends of the top of the wall) this way the spray can is moved around in 2d on the wall and another motor can trigger the spray paint. the results are impressive and the videos are damn cool, definitely check them out.

rumour has it (thanks to a couple of confusing voicemessages) lawrence has found a 77% chocolate, and it’s thus in the mail headed my way.
for those of you not old enough to remember, 77percent originated as a concept for a chocolate factory, my chocolate factory. Our mission was the production of a very finest mix of darker chocolates which were otherwise unavailable. Everyone knows dark chocolates rocks all socks; but there are varying levels of darkness such as almostdark (seventy percent) and tropnoir (eightyfive percent). We wanted to mix the two, hence producing a range of chocolates from 77.1% to 77.9%, my favorite mix would innevitably be 77.7% this is because there would naturally be very little difference in taste throughout the range and i think that three 7s in a row look cool.
in any case this does not mean our mission is over. in fact, this gives us further initiative as we aim to produce the finest chocolate, SeventySeven(point)Seven[DARK]. also announcing the newest addition to our planned family of chocolates, 3Sevenths[LIGHT] : a creamy mix of fiine chocolate.
a bunch of photostuffs from around the market this evening, i ended up at a shawarma place on dalhousie next to milano’s before walking home. take a look through the shawarma deluxe.
LolliLove is the first feature film I produced. It’s about a wealthy but severely misguided married couple , who set out to make a difference in the lives of the homeless by starting a charity that hands out lollipops to homeless people. Not just any old lollipops, mind you, but ones with wrappers emblazoned with James’ artwork…which is designed to inspire them to live better lives, get jobs, use birth control, etc.
It’s a “mockumentary” that takes satiric aim at wealthy types who get involved in charitable causes for ultimately selfish and self-serving reasons.
it is directed by and stars Jenna Fischer of the office on NBC
looks great i’d suggest anyone in need of something to watch … to watch it.
a few other things:
- fake model photography by recedinghairline.co.uk : an interesting bit on taking making real photographs look like scale models.
- PeerFlix is a cool service (though i’m not using it myself, i could imagine others making great use of it) for trading your existing DVDs with people who want them, in exchange for credits with which you can get other people’s dvds that you want (p2p equivalent of netflix, clever idea indeed)
- C6 carbon fibre iPod case, damn cool looking and relatively cheap. made from real aerospace carbon fiber, aluminum, and stainless steel screws
- evoke.tv is merely a tvguide website but it’s got real clean, mean design pumped full with ajax and some social functions, unfortunately no canadian listings (yet)
- also very cool high speed capture of a bullet shooting through a playing card
- the slanket : yes it’s a sleeved blanket.
- robotic flying shotgun
- o and bustedtees is doing a [subtle, as is the trend these days
a few interesting commencement speeches i ran into recently, for your motivational reading pleasure
