very very amazing colours.

A young sir has materialized, drenched in sea water but dressed in a fine unlabeled black tuxedo, on an English beach in early April. He hasn’t said a word to a person in any conceivable language. When doctors at the mental institute where he is held gave him paper and a pencil, in the hope that he might communicate by writing, he drew this piano. When doctors took him to a piano, out of curiosity, he played with stunning confidence and ease; an amazing contrast to his normal extreme shyness.

apparently the major phone companies are endorsing gay marriage and the like ; as a result various christian phone companies have been created, giving those against gay marriage an option to turn to for their telephony needs. take a listen to their targeted advertising; great stuff, a shame they don’t offer dsl
“please dial 1 if you’re against same sex marriage.”
the first phone call
and the second
“So, you want me to switch to less gay phone company, is that accurate?”
“like the fist of god, we will smash them” ; “exactly.”
“You don’t get to tell me what to do ever again.”
Boss: I’m not paying you to do… whatever it is you’re doing out here.
Ricky Fitts: Fine. So don’t pay me.
Boss: Excuse me?
Ricky Fitts: I quit. So you don’t have to pay me. Now leave me alone.
Boss: …asshole.
Lester: I think you just became my personal hero!

as was presumed (based on whois for the bovineunited domain & eisner interactive’s only maryland state client) .. the cows i met on the street yesterday were working for the maryland state lottery .. surely the ads would have been dozens of times more effective if they’d been just a little careful with their secret
saw something about a very interesting looking film documentary on life in North Korea, some of the clips i saw were really interesting including one of their enormous-moving-pictures-via-book-hordes (hard to describe i’ll try to find a photo another day) and of course a family, the family, cursing out americans during a power outage .. it looks like they got some truly unique footage and i’m really looking forward to its release .. probably one of the first real exposure from north korea in an awful long time
on two north

in other news got my jacket back today , seems just fine and i’m pretty happy about that
it was very very nice outside today in the afternoon, really was
don’t know how but i completely missed out on the improvised explosive device outside of the British consolate in nyc ; rather shocking that didn’t make very big news but i just heard about it an hour ago as a side point at that
there’s a funny piece on howstuffworks (being linked to from all around today) on lightsabers, their many uses and of course a definitive definition of how they work
o yea also got invited by my friends at oral fixations to this low-profile event (with open bar that i would apparently be welcome to use) in nyc , it sounds like it would be great and i do love the good guys of the famous abandoned chocolate factory but i really don’t think i could pull off the whole taking a train to new york for friday night at Cielo (really nice place btw)
yea , everyone knew that the cows i met on the street yesterday afternoon were working for the maryland state lottery .. but the campaign could have been good (up to the point at which everyone was super disappointed, (dismal hopes of a non-marylandstatelottery commercial crushed)] if they had managed to keep it under covers .. but they failed ; the idea was certainly clever but this probably has to havc been the most horribly failed attempt at viral marketing in a while .. surely ppl were spreading the news for them but they could have forced every person that isn’t blind in the state of maryland to point their televisions to their commercial and it would still be equally ineffective .. there’s no point at all wasting all that time and effort building hype for a website and paying ppl to wander the streets handing out business cards if it’s all intended just to forward to people to a piece of super anticipated conventional television marketing crap ; but most importantly the maryland state lottery just isn’t the right client, but of course the whole idea behind the campaign of getting everyone to tune into ‘the networks’ at a certain time just to watch a conventional television commercial isn’t really any more effective than spending an equivalent quantity of cash and effort on getting the same ad repeated enough times for everyone to see it

on this but didn’t get around to it
, tomorrow is probably too late
very cool new organization type webapp from 37signals (imho great experts of human interface)
well worth checking out
backpackit.com
i’m sure that all of us (readers and myself) do lack what (i’m hoping) backpack has to offer
i seem to think that organization is far from over rated but at the same time, i’m sure it’s pretty tedious so i figure that if anyone can make organization truly worth its while (i.e make it’s ‘while’ (read:investment) negligible and maybe even further enhance it’s worth)
their work with basecamp and tadalist is also meticulously clever and well designed
the good folk of 37signals have a blog named signalvsnoise
been around since ‘99
their mission statement reads
chances are you won’t regret it …
