a very interesting project, nearly a year’s worth of investment .. but the result is definitely something quite unique ; it is, as the name might give away, a wooden mirror as in a mirror made from wood ; eight hundred thirty 40mm wooden squares form an octagon of 35 by 29, each wooden square is controlled by an individual servo which in turn is daisy chained into controllers and eventually a computer. the servos control the vertical angle of each wooden square [i.e rotating on a horizontal axis] an overhead spotlight shines downwards upon the individual ‘pixels’ and therefore, depending upon their angular orientation, they can produce varying shades of light. a very little camera in the center feeds the control unit and the individual wooden pixels very between 255 (theoretically) different positions yielding approximately ten different shades, in real-time at ~15 Hz
very impressive video .. overall a very challenging and, without doubt, interesting achievement
arrow foot by special herbs
definitely give it a listen, quite enjoyable

this one looks great with the strong and rustic red colour but the rain falling on the window .. really very good looking picture ; coda has lots of other great stuff, definitely worth a look sometime
water tower from somewhere in pune .. really appreciated the contrast between the aged concrete and solid blue sky .. thought this one came out pretty well .. yea
yea didn’t realize that there were monitors smaller than mine but fact is that my monitor is larger than many and double the resolution of the vast majority as a result many loyal 77percent visitors were assaulted by an enormous graphic splash of which they saw only a corner ; its been fixed the jpg qual is as high as is reasonable but i’m not sure if it looks crisp enough so please do tell if its looking messy because i can easily up the resolution (fixed dimensions) and we’ll see how that works … anyways i’ve concluded that the whole layout redesign isn’t going to happen for quite a while might just wait till we start experiementiing with moveable type so yea … sorry if you got your hopes up
sorry guys its just a welcome splash and nothing more .. i might get around to a layout redesign but i’m not sure that its worth the effort if i’m going to migrate to moveabletype quite probably in the near future .. its better than nothing ; i figured most people using it will be on acceptably fast lines and i wanted to keep it high qual so it might be a little big for dial-up losers …. if anyone has any complaints i’ll try not to ignore them .. i definitely spent a good minute or two preparing the splash so be damn appreciative
if you want puretext go to the ’smartFeed’ but that’s quite lame and only exists for really lame people (as well as aggregators but they don’t matter)
if the splash isn’t up yet (in that the domain’s not yet moved) you can see it here within the next few hours it should be what you see first at 77percent,com ; if you want out and just a direct link to the blog try 77percent.com/blog or jeeves.77percent.com
update: the splash was up almost immediately kudo to 1&1
also blog.77percent.com should take you direct
as well as jeeves.77percent.com
so very close to a tic-tac-toe board in the sky .. can you imagine the potential, i know i can …. [see bio with adrien last year] ; quite an accomplishment by my standards
i thought this one came out really pretty great considering the crap that is most .. really like how (if you see the photo in proper size) you can see some of the trees behind the sign, its makes for a kind of strange and almost eery but not quite effect that i quite appreciated but yea ..
still regretting the haircut yesterday .. i generally regret haircuts, still pissed at the guy although he was pretty friendly he’s only now starting to annoy me … he did cut it awfully short, and i had told him not to, he distracted me and i didn’t notice until it was too late …
anyways though not good to dwell on bad things; last night was quite muy bueno lol spent a while finding adrien (after he had spent half an hour convincing me to come to the ball) because he had gotten himself lost nearby the school, just before we were about to walk into the ball; we saw jeremy and stephen in the distance and both of our minds changed at just around the same time and before we knew it we were walking again, in the cold, but it was quite worth it .. later on came back and i bought a ticket but didn’t go in because our folk were then leaving, mrs totten insisted i take my money back and it was later spent on the happiness of the night .. heard the whole thing wasn’t all that great anyways, and i wasn’t planning on going in the first place so i’d say it was a pretty good call … anyways i should figure out this whole english essay thing sometime as well as a few other things, not to mention the mUN proposal … we could miss monday but i’m hoping for a two-hour although compared with the other days that we could have missed in the past but didn’t its not all that bad of day and first two periods are pretty good too so i don’t know if its worth it of course anything is worth the extra sleep and i guess a day off is a day off, isn’t it .. so yea
haven’t posted in a while but i don’t have all that much to share at the moment although there are some new pics up on flickr so if anyone’s bored enough they might give it a look .. although its nothing much ; i liked the stuff that i got on the metro of that guy sitting there staring at the paper, it seemed interested at the time and i’m sure there is some sort of a niche for that kind of thing all the same though i was pretty bored at the time
found the trainspotting soundtrack on my desk again … it keeps on appearing everywhere i don’t know what’s up with it, i mean its definitely a great soundtrack, if anyone needs a copy i’ll host it .. but yea it’s kind of odd how it just shows up in the middle of everything but kind of odd in an interestingly amusing sort of a way .
from lomonkey’s gallery .. he’s got a whole lot of really great photography definitely worth a look .. of course if you haven’t checked out 99rooms yet you have to do that first … i’ll make some graphics or at least a logo (which won’t match anything else) some time soon-ish

now if i probably should have spent weeks planning this and prepared a new layout and all but no sorry
i probably will never get around to a new layout (unless i outsource it, which i feel is a shame on my part so it’ll probably just stay the same .. and i promise i will never fall so low as to have one of those dark brown type themes with heavy bubbly letters or the like) but yea that’s that
i’ll get around to fixing up the blog description and title and maybe some other stuff but until then
jeeves@77percent.com will be active as soon as the domain itself is active
don’t worry though any other older addresses you might have will work, it all ends up in the same place as far as i’m concerned so yea you really needn’t bother changing address books or any other hassles but yea
the domain should be up by, at the latest, noon tomorrow
… will be looking forward to it, and you should be too ;-)

well today was today …. in the metro there was a homeless man sitting and metro officials and a police officer were trying to get him to move , never before had i seen it done so blatantly ; there was the station manager and also a local police officer, and most notably a tall balding man in a heavy wool overcoat with a completely blank face, only a small tag indicated his status as a metro official .. the man in the overcoat said absolutely nothing (there to be an important looking official intended intimidate people from stopping , paying attention and thus creating a crowd (which is precisely what i ended up doing) … i’m sure he was real concerned because loads of protesters from the day were passing through the station (not to mention a small family with “don’t mess with dubya” buttons which i found quite amusing, they looked like they felt very out of place and seemed surprised) but yea the protesters were obviously too tired to notice) anyways i really wish that i had had my camera there because it was a seriously shameful situation … the copper was talking to the guy who was sitting peacefully with his head down and had been praying .. the guy started to explain how people had been stealing his shoes when he was at a shelter and that it was very cold outside … the ‘metro official’ in the heavy overcoat was standing there the whole time with an incredibly blank expression looking as if he mattered , the station manager asked me if he could help me as if that was the only reason for which i could be standing there not that i made me move …. really really wish that i had my camera with me, that would have gotten the buy in the heavy overcoat pissed and would have let me post this story on flickr but yea i didn’t which was a horrible shame .. just to be fair, the copper wasn’t rude or mean or anything and was relatively understanding but it still wasn’t a very nice thing for him/them to do , although i suppose he was just doing job and he really didn’t have any choice at all .. he was trying to solve it without anything bad happening and that was good of him .. but its bad of the metro for being so uptight about the guy … he wasn’t yelling at customers or even actively begging
.. that wasn’t a very happy topic; other than that i visited laur today who just got out of hospital, she’s doing much better than she was sounding a few days ago .. though still tired but pain killers can do that sometimes (particularly when hospitals specifically avoid prescribing codeine despite its lack of significant side-effects simply because of a, very derived, narcotic basing) … anyways though we made tea; worked out pretty well although the water she used wasn’t as boiling as it should have been the leaves were excellent

meant to up this
song by the way is called ‘it’s your thing’ and the credit goes to David Holmes (great all-round music guy, done a few great soundtracks .. normally pretty jazzy stuff including ocean’s eleven (and twelve i’d imagine), code 46, analyze that and a few others .. his non film related stuff is also quite great definitely very classy and downtempo)
excellent shot, you’ve really got to love these …
