another thing, have you ever noticed how ridiculously overweight the manatee [commonly referred to as sea cow, doesn’t that sound more like an insult than a nickname] they seem ridiculously impractical as a creature, but pretty amusing creatures as far as i am concerned, would probably be a shame to see them go .. although in all honesty they’re lucky darwin let them stay along this far

and by the way, to all those recipients of erwin’s blatantly manipulative propaganda on Canadian baby seal hunting, particularly the implication of ‘hidden’ subsidies for the hunters and turning of a blind eye to the unethical practice … firstly this is all very untrue and that email has the very clear purpose of misinformation ..
in all honesty, despite the baby animal factor, there’s a whole lot worse injustices that exist around the world many of which are undeniably funded by US taxpayer dollars ,
before you offer your name to help sponsor missions intended to protect cute baby animals from being slaughtered, you might want to think about many more worthy causes ; don’t think that you’re just giving them your name , by showing support for ifaw you are giving them leverage to take money from the very limited pool of free humanitarian funding which imho could be much better used elsewhere

don’t get me wrong, i think baby seals are great and all .. slaughtering them isn’t very just … but in the greater scheme of things it’s not even comparable to the enormously more significant injustices around the globe
